At-Risk is a web-based gatekeeper training simulation designed to teach faculty, staff, and RAs to effectively identify, approach, and refer students in mental distress.

At-Risk is the only available training product that allows users to learn by engaging in simulated conversations with virtual students who show symptoms of depression, anxiety, paranoia and thoughts of suicide. As a result, users are better able to handle similar situations in real life.

At-Risk has been developed by Kognito Interactive in partnership with the Mental Health Association of New York City, which administers the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (1-800-273-TALK).

Conversation-Simulation Technology

Using award-winning simulation technology, users learn by engaging in conversations with emotionally intelligent, talking, animated virtual characters. By empowering users to make decisions and experience the consequences of their actions while receiving quality feedback, we bridge the gap between having knowledge and applying that knowledge.

Why Gatekeeper Training?

Almost 10% of college students have seriously considered suicide over the past 12 months and 1.4% actually attempted suicide. With less than 9% seeking help at their counseling center, gatekeeper training has been recognized as a best practice in reducing the number of undetected students on campus.
